Ted Nahil

Vice President, Sales

Ted has an extensive background in both radio and satellite communications. His broadcasting career spans back to 1977 when he started as a chief engineer for a radio station in Claremont, NH. Since then he has served as chief engineer or director of engineering at facilities in Boston, Detroit and Denver. His experience with companies like Greater Media, Noble, Shamrock, Salem Communications and Enterprise Radio provides a solid foundation for project planning and budgeting as well as a thorough understanding of the day-to-day technical operation of broadcast facilities.

During his broadcast engineering career he was responsible for small and large capital project planning and implementation, day-to-day maintenance of AM and FM facilities, budgeting and daily management of personnel for both large and small engineering departments, and ensuring compliance with all applicable local, state and FCC broadcasting regulations.

From 2000 until 2007, Ted was national accounts manager for Harris/Intraplex and was heavily involved in helping stations implement HD Radio™ technology at their facilities. During this time he developed a deep understanding of IP and T1 networks. This knowledge and experience, coupled with his previous audio and RF background, enabled him to offer a rare combination of skills required to design and implement STL and TSL systems - the "backbone" audio and data transmission systems required for HD Radio™. Ted also worked closely with iBiquity during this period and was an instructor at Harris Broadcast?s HD Radio™ Seminars, helping chiefs around the country better understand the transmission requirements and challenges of deploying HD Radio™ at their facilities.

More recently, from 2007 to 2011, Ted served as the Eastern Regional Accounts Manager for Electronic Research, Inc., serving radio customers from Alabama and Florida all the way up to New England. In this capacity, he continued working with engineers, managers and owners, large and small, in implementing HD Radio™ upgrades to their facilities. He also helped plan and deliver multi-station master antennas, single-frequency upgraded FM antennas, and small to large broadcast towers with customers such as Clear Channel, CBS and Lincoln Financial, as well as single- and small-group-owned facilities.

Ted is a contributing editor for Radio World magazine, and has participated in regional and national conferences and conventions as a panel member and primary presenter. He holds a lifetime FCC license, is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, and is a Certified Professional Broadcast Engineer.
